Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 August 2026
By using the Go Dutchie app ("the Service") you agree to these terms. If you
do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
Provide accurate account details and don't impersonate others.
You may choose to verify your phone number by confirming a one-time code sent to it.
Once verified, that number is locked to your account: it cannot be reused to verify
another account, and it cannot be changed from within the app. This protects you and
other members from impersonation and account takeover. To change a verified phone
number, contact support.
Acceptable use
- Don't misuse the Service, attempt to break its security, or access data
that isn't yours.
- Go Dutchie maintains a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable, harassing, abusive,
or harmful user content and conduct. Requests, messages, or conduct violating this policy
may be removed, and user accounts may be suspended or terminated following investigation.
- Community submissions (service suggestions, edits, referral links) must be
accurate and lawful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that abuse
the community features.
- Only add referral links and service information you're entitled to share.
- Split names and expense descriptions are free text shown to everyone in that
Split. They are not screened before other members see them, so the same
zero-tolerance rule applies to them as to anything else you send another
member, and you should not put anything in them you would not want every
member of that Split to read.
- Add someone to a Split only if you actually know them, in the same way you
would send them a request. Adding a person shows them the Split's whole
history, including expenses entered before they joined.
- Photos you attach — a receipt on an expense, a photo on a Split group,
or your profile picture — are yours, and you keep them. By attaching one
you allow us to store it and show it to the people it is meant for: the
members of that Split group for a receipt or group photo, and the members you
share with for a profile picture. Attach only photos you are entitled to
share, and remember a receipt can show more than the amount — a name, an
address, or part of a card number. Photos are not screened before other
members see them, so the same zero-tolerance rule applies. We may remove a
photo that breaks these terms.
- If you delete your account, the photos you uploaded are deleted with it. An
expense another member entered stays in their Split with its amount, date and
balance intact; only your photograph goes.
Community content
App suggestions and edits are reviewed and approved by the community. We don't
guarantee the accuracy of community-provided information, referral links, or
third-party apps.
Sharing a subscription (Dutchies & Dutchie Plans)
A "Dutchie" or "Dutchie Plan" is an arrangement between members to share a subscription (either pairwise or with multiple members under one plan card). Go Dutchie only introduces you and keeps a record of what you agreed; the arrangement itself is yours.
- Sending a request. When you send a Dutchie request, the member
receiving it is shown your Go Dutchie profile name along with the service and your
message, so they know who is asking. Only send requests to people you actually
know. A request you send may carry a short message; it must follow the acceptable
use rules above, and we check it automatically for disallowed content. An
unanswered request expires after 7 days.
- Accepting. If both of you accept, you each receive the contact
details the other has chosen to share, so you can arrange things directly. Use
those details only to arrange the share — not for marketing, and not to pass
on to anyone else. You can change which details you share, or stop sharing them,
at any time under Profile → Privacy & safety.
- Terms and money. Any cost, split, or payment you agree is
between the two of you. Go Dutchie does not process, hold, or guarantee payments,
and is not a party to your arrangement. Recording split terms in the app is a
convenience, not a contract we enforce.
- The provider's rules come first. Many services restrict who may
use a plan — a household, an address, a device limit. You are responsible for
staying within the terms of the service you are sharing. Go Dutchie does not
authorise you to breach them.
- Blocking and reporting. You may block any member, which stops
them sending you requests, and report a request that is spam, harassing, or
inappropriate. We may suspend or terminate accounts following investigation, in
line with the zero-tolerance policy above.
Splitting an expense (Splits)
Go Dutchie records what members enter about shared expenses and works out the
balance between them. It is not a payment service: no money passes through it, we
hold none, and marking a debt settled records what the two of you say happened
rather than moving anything.
- The arithmetic is only as good as the entries. Members type in
the amounts, and any member of a Split may correct an expense. Every edit is
recorded against the person who made it.
- The arrangement is between you. We are not a party to it and
cannot arbitrate, reverse, or enforce a debt between members.
- Members only. Everyone in a Split must already be a Go Dutchie
member and in the contacts of whoever adds them.
- Leaving. You cannot leave a Split while a balance between you
and another member is open, so a debt is not walked away from by accident.
Deleting your account is never blocked this way.
Third-party services and subscriptions
Go Dutchie helps you discover and coordinate around third-party apps but is not
affiliated with them. All third-party names, icons, and logos are the property of
their respective owners and are used only to identify those apps and services. Any
subscription, payment, or cost-sharing arrangement is between you and the relevant
provider or people you choose to share with.
Referral links & commissions
A referral link shared by a matched contact belongs to that contact. Any
referral reward goes to that person, and Go Dutchie earns nothing from it.
Go Dutchie contains no affiliate links. We take no commission, referral
revenue, or placement fee from any service listed, and no service pays to be
listed or positioned. Nothing in the app is ranked or promoted for payment.
Should that ever change, these terms will say so before it does, and any
such link will be disclosed where it appears.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not
guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Go Dutchie is not liable for any
indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
Changes & termination
We may update these terms or discontinue the Service. You may stop using the
Service and request account deletion at any time.
